Biodiesel production facilities in Europe are similar to those in the U.S. in that most are built to match a farm co-op's feedstock supply. The key difference is that European producers are heavily dependent on rapeseed (canola oil) as the feedstock of choice, which is less volatile than soybean prices and does not have the same food versus fuel perception. Below is a list of the large scale producers with a capacity equal or greater to 50MGY (capacities have been translated from liters or tons).
